ABOUT FOUNDATION 1781
Foundation 1781 is a charitable organization founded by Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (YSG). Established in 2008, YSG and its wholly owned subsidiary, The Unconventional, provide services in areas to include but not limited to training and education, operational mission support, technological solutions, and professional administrative and logistics support to various Government agencies. Foundation 1781 developed out of a collaborative desire from the YSG Team to give back to the community through engagement, education and one-on-one, personal impact.
Core Focus Areas
Veteran Support
Our Veterans and active duty servicemen and women are the lifeblood of our community. Both the servicemembers and their families have made selfless sacrifices to defend our country and freedom. From financial assistance to volunteering with veterans' service organizations (VSOs), there are many ways across the spectrum of support through which we can show gratitude to our nation's veterans, military members, and military families.
Basic Needs
Access to basic needs is essential for individuals, families, and communities to thrive. From fighting hunger and helping people find safe, stable housing to providing other critical resources during times of need, our efforts focus on addressing immediate challenges and promoting long-term stability. Through financial support, volunteerism, and partnerships with community-based organizations, Foundation 1781 is committed to helping people access the resources they need to move forward.
Mental Health
Mental health and well-being are essential to building strong individuals, families, and communities. No one should have to face life’s challenges alone or without access to the support they need. From increasing awareness and reducing stigma to supporting organizations that provide critical resources and care, there are many ways we help ensure individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.

The Village of Promise is a Family Advancement Center. Together, with our community partners and investors, they provide educational programs, sustainable tools, and opportunities that empower children and their families to advance out of poverty.
Downtown Rescue Mission is a Christ-centered, non-profit organization in Huntsville, Alabama, that provides emergency shelter, meals, and recovery services to homeless and hurting people
First Stop, Inc. helps individuals experiencing homelessness access essential resources and pathways to stable housing while coordinating community donations, volunteers, and local partnerships.
Kids to Love is a non-profit organization based near Huntsville, Alabama, that helps children and families in the foster care system
Kindred Souls Foundation is a 501(c)3 that provides a sanctuary to abandoned, abused, and neglected cats and dogs of all ages. Their goal is to ensure all animals are given the best opportunity to be loved and well cared for through specially designed programs, community involvement, and networking with other organizations.
Still Serving Veterans is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2006 that provides free career transition support, VA benefits guidance, and community resource connections to U.S. veterans, transitioning service members, and their families.
The Huntsville Hospital Foundation is a local non-profit organization founded in 1978 that raises money to buy lifesaving medical technology and fund patient care programs for local not-for-profit hospitals
