ABOUT FOUNDATION 1781

Foundation 1781 is a charitable organization founded by Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (YSG). Established in 2008, YSG provides services in areas to include but not limited to training and education, operational mission support, technological solutions, and professional administrative and logistics support to various Government agencies. Foundation 1781 developed out of a collaborative desire from the YSG Team to give back to the community through engagement, education and one-on-one, personal impact.

Core Focus Areas

Childhood Education

Childhood Education

Economic development starts with early childhood development—and the best investments ensure all children, particularly those from low-income families, have access to high-quality early childhood education. Evidence shows that increased access to high-quality early childhood learning and care programs results in short- and long-term economic benefits to individuals and society. In addition, investing in early childhood education is a solution that creates upward mobility by ensuring all children have the opportunity to build foundations for long-term success in life.

Hunger.jpg

Hunger

There are nearly 60,000 children and families living in North Alabama who are food-deprived. Hunger has debilitating, lifelong effects on a child’s health, cognitive development, behavior, academic achievement, and ability to succeed. It undermines that child’s well-being, the stability of their family, and the prosperity of our community.

Support our Veterans

Veteran Support

Our Veterans and active duty servicemen and women are the lifeblood of our community. Both the servicemembers and their families have made selfless sacrifices to defend our country and freedom. From financial assistance to volunteering with veterans' service organizations (VSOs), there are many ways across the spectrum of support through which we can show gratitude to our nation's veterans, military members, and military families.

Under-Resourced

Under-Resourced

The team at Foundation 1781 regularly looks for ways to give back and make positive, forward movement in our communities. Whether it’s supporting ones’ means to vote, providing care packages to our front line workers, or volunteering at community-based events, we are always focused on ways our efforts can help those around us.
